Commuter Services
Mission Statement
To offer commuter students a link to the campus community through programming, advocating and providing a welcoming environment.
Services
As a UB commuter student, it will be particularly important for you to become "connected" to the University outside the classroom. Find out about services and programs designed especially for you as a commuter.
As a UB commuter student, adjusting to college life may present you with a different set of challenges than on-campus residents experience. Although you are living at home, as you did in high school, your friends, your schedule, your priorities and some aspects of your family life will undoubtedly change. It will be particularly important for you to become "connected" to the University outside the classroom. Otherwise, you may find yourself simply coming to campus, going to your classes and then heading directly home or perhaps to a part-time, off-campus job.
If you have recently moved off-campus from the residence halls, your needs and concerns are similar to those of a commuter student. Student Activities offers services, programs and activities to help meet the needs of commuter and off-campus students.
Getting Involved
Like anything else in life, your UB experience will be exactly what you make of it. There are over 180 student clubs and organizations to get involved with. For a quick, convenient way to find clubs and organizations that interest you, check out the Student Involvement Directory. You can access the directory at www.getinvolved.buffalo.edu and then select from a list of student groups that match your interests.
Another way to get involved and meet new people is to get a part-time job on campus. To find a position, you can either visit various departments to see who’s hiring or check out the Career Services Jobs and Internships web site.

The Commuter Ride Board is where students post their contact information if they are interested in carpooling to UB. Perhaps you need transportation or perhaps you are looking for someone with whom to share driving expenses. Carpooling may offer the solution you are seeking. The Ride Board is located on the 2nd floor of the Student Union, across from Pistachio's.
