Attend this informative program where you’ll learn the correct way to handle yourself and the silverware too! Proper business attire will also be shown and discussed! This program will provide $1,000 to one outstanding sophomore or junior majoring in Business or an IT-related degree program.

Program’s Objectives: to encourage achievement in fields related to the operations of an insurance company and for students to recognize GEICO as an employer of choice for post-graduation career opportunities.

The recipient of the Achievement Award may be recommended by UB faculty or staff. Guidelines for student recommendation and ultimately selection are:

  • Be a sophomore or junior at a four-year, accredited college or university
  • Has achieved at least a 3.0 overall grade point average
  • Is accomplished in his/her field of study
  • Is involved in his/her campus or community

Students are required to:

  • Submit a completed application resume, unofficial transcripts, a short essay on why they are the best person to receive this award, and a sealed letter of recommendation.

All application information must be submitted to GEICO and postmarked no later than February 7, 2009. For more information and to download an application, visit www.geico.jobs/achievement.

The recipient will be honored at a special event in the Spring Semester.


“ON TARGET” Undergraduate Case Competition’s top prize is $4,000 - Enter your team TODAY!

The University at Buffalo School of Management is hosting the third annual “On Target” Undergraduate Case Competition, sponsored by the Target Corporation. Last year 20 teams entered this case competition to compete for $3,000. This year teams will be able to compete for more prize money! The top four-person team will win $4,000 – that’s $1,000 for each team member.

The competition is open to all full-time UB undergraduate students; Team entries deadline is Thursday, November 6, 2008. The case will be distributed to teams in the early spring and the five team-finalists will provide an oral presentation of their conclusions on the case on Saturday, February 28, 2009, in the Alfiero Center to a panel of Target Executives.
