Career Peer Advisors
What are Career Peer Advisors?
Career Peers work as paraprofessionals in the office of Career Services and contribute to the office in the following ways:
- Give Career Services presentations to the campus community
- Work individually with students in Career Resource Library
- Learn resume and cover letter critiquing skills
- Participate in special events
- Outreach to students regarding office events and programs
- Much more!!!
What do Career Peers gain?
- A great 3-credit internship experience
- The potential for $ in the second semester
- Resume writing/critiquing skills

- Helping skills
- Development of a personal career plan
Who should apply?
- This is a great experience for students interested in careers in higher education, counseling, teaching and communication, but if you are looking to get involved, develop public speaking skills, and help your fellow students, then this might be a great experience for you. Students have participated from a range of majors including business, urban planning, communication, psychology, social sciences interdisciplinary, sociology and others.

Qualifications:
Candidates for the position must possess excellent written and communication skills, the ability to work closely with others, and be willing to give a full year (2 semester) commitment. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
