How long is the ceremony? Approximately two hours.
How many tickets am I allowed? No tickets will be distributed - First-come first-serve seating. SEATING BEGINS AT 8 am.
Is the Alumni Arena handicapped accessible and is special handicapped seating provided? Yes, it is. There will be many ushers on site to help facilitate seating in the special reserved handicapped seating sections.
Important Note: Due to limited seating, only one family member is allowed to sit with the individual requiring handicapped seating. The rest of the family will be asked to take seats in the regular seating sections.
Do we need to make prior requests for handicapped seating? No, once you arrive on site, ask any of the ushers to assist you in being seated.
Where do my guests park? West side of Arena - Baird, Jacobs & Slee Lots on Augspurger Road. Many signs will be posted and aides will direct traffic (including handicapped parking).
Are individual names announced? Yes. You will be asked to provide guidance on pronunciation of your name.
Where do I first report and when? Arrive no later than 8 am. The robing area for all degree candidates is in the Triple Gym (located in the basement of Alumni Arena). The Alumni Arena will provide signs to each room and label each room accordingly, allowing an easier access during a very busy time. Further instructions will be given at that time. DO NOT bring purses or valuables. We have asked to have the robing area locked during the ceremony but it is not certain.
Will further instructions be received by students? Instructions for students attending the ceremony will be e-mailed in early April.
How do I order a cap and gown? Through the University Bookstore. See Cap & Gown section for more information.
I will not complete my degree in May. May I still march in the ceremony? With permission, exceptions can be considered for students with special circumstances. Contact the School of Nursing Student Affairs Office.
