Eligibility
Master's, DNP and PhD students with approved applications to candidacy for a degree conferral in September, February, or June may participate if they register on the 2012 School of Nursing commencement website. Undergraduate students who have filed a degree card for September, February, or June may participate if they register on the 2012 School of Nursing commencement website. A link to the commencement registration website will be available below by February 1, 2012.

FAQs
How long is the ceremony? Approximately two hours.
How many tickets am I allowed? No tickets will be distributed. The doors open to the Alumni Arena for seating at 8 a.m. Seating is first come first served.
What if I (graduating student) have a disability which impacts my ability to participate in the Nursing Commencement Ceremony? Please note if you have a disability and what accommodations you require, as you register for the ceremony. Registration is done online through the "Registration" section at the top of this page. Sally Sams, our commencement coordinator will contact you to discuss and finalize your accommodations.
If I am the guest of a graduate and I have a disability, what accommodations will be available? Please visit the "Guests with Disabilities" page for information.
Is the Alumni Arena handicapped accessible and is special handicapped seating provided? Yes, it is. There will be ushers on site to help facilitate seating in the special reserved handicapped seating sections.
Important Note: Due to limited seating, only ONE family member is allowed to sit with the individual requiring handicapped seating. Any additional guests will be required to take seats in the regular seating sections.
Do we need to make prior requests for handicapped seating? No, once you arrive on site, ask any of the ushers for assistance.
Where do my guests park? West side of Arena - Baird, Jacobs & Slee Lots off Augspurger Road. Signs will be posted and aides will direct traffic (including handicapped parking).
Are individual names announced? Yes. You will be asked to provide the phonetic spelling of your name.
Where do I first report and when? Arrive no later than 8 am. The robing area for all degree candidates is in the Edward L. Wright Practice Facility (located in the basement of Alumni Arena). The Alumni Arena will provide signs to this room. Further instructions will be given at that time. DO NOT bring purses or valuables as the room will not be locked.
Will further instructions be received by students? Instructions for students attending the ceremony will be e-mailed in early April.
Are baby strollers permitted? Baby strollers cannot be brought into the Alumni Arena.
How do I order a cap and gown? Through the University Bookstore. See Cap & Gown section for more information.
I will not complete my degree in May. Can I still march in the ceremony? With permission, exceptions may be granted for students with unique circumstances. Contact the School of Nursing Office of Student Affairs.
When will I receive my diploma? The Office of the Registrar
will mail your diploma to your PERMANENT ADDRESS approximately six weeks after the conferral date.
