Peer Educator Programming

Career Peer Advisors (Career Services)
Work with the Office of Career Services assisting students and alumni with resume techniques, career assessment programs, workshops and much more. Contact Career Planning and Placement at 645-2232 for more information.

Diversity Advocates (Intercultural & Diversity Center)
Function as a proactive educational advocacy group, engaging in ongoing training on diversity-related issues and topics. Call 645-2055 or stop by 240 Student Union for more information.

Leadership Service Educators (Center for Student Leadership and Community Engagement)
Three-credit internship where students are trained to deliver workshops on a number of leadership topics, lead team building activities, plan and implement community service projects and provide leadership advisement for students. For information call 645-6469 or stop by 235 Student Union.

Orientation Aide - OA (Office of New Student Programs)
OAs are the students at orientation who are in charge of groups of incoming freshman. They are expected to dorm at the school for a big portion of the summer using positive attitudes and excitement about UB to show freshman a good time. If interested, applications are due between February and March. Go to 112 Student Union or call 645-6125 for more information.

Peer Ministry Program
Peer Ministers are students who intentionally develop and exercise their baptismal call to minister in the context of their daily vocation as students. They are a vital element of the UB Campus Ministry. For more information please contact Lutheran Campus Ministry at.833-6950.

Live for free while programming for your fellow residents. Contact your hall director for more information.

Student Programming Board - SPB (Student Activities)
The Student Programming Board (SPB) is an integral part of Student Activities. The board encourages the development of leadership, responsibility, and social competence through initiating, planning, development, participation, and evaluation of programs designed to enhance the educational, recreational, cultural, and social needs and preferences of the entire University community. Only 15 students are chosen per semester, split between a daytime and nighttime programming board. If interested in student employment or an internship, applications are available in 150 Student Union. For information contact the Student Activities Associate at 645-2055.

The Student-Wide Judiciary - SWJ (SA)
The Student-Wide Judiciary is SA's answer to a jury of your peers. Student justices, not residence hall directors, have the final say in the sentencing of students for on-campus infractions. Students are brought before a court comprised of 21 justices and alternates who run the trial and abide by a strict code of laws and procedure. The SA President appoints all undergraduate justices. If you want to get involved, contact the SA office, 645-2950 or stop by 350 Student Union.

UB 101 Peer Mentor (Office of New Student Programs)
UB 101 Peer Mentors are students who assist the UB 101 instructor in the teaching of the UB 101 class. They are required to have a 2.5 GPA and take the UB 101 Peer Mentor class. For information contact the First Year Experience Coordinator in 112 Student Union or call 645-6125.

Wellness Peer Educators (Wellness Education Center)
Wellness Peer Educators are trained to deliver wellness presentations to groups or organizations. For more information contact the Wellness Education Center at 645-2837 or stop by 114 Student Union.
