Recreation and Intramural Services
Recreation and Intramural (R&I) Services is housed in room 130 of Alumni Arena. Services provided include sale of recreation permits and guest passes, squash and racquetball court reservations, as well as recreation and intramural program information and registration. The intramural teams are as follows:
Basketball, Flag Football, Floor Hockey, Roller, Hockey, Indoor and Outdoor Soccer, Volleyball, Softball, Racquetball, and Squash. All sports are available for men and women.
Sport Clubs
All clubs are self-administered by elected student officers and are somewhat self-supported by membership dues, fund-raising activities, donor contributions and sponsorships. Most sport clubs are members of the Student Association (SA). It is the responsibility of students to coordinate activities, classes, practices, employment of a coach, competition schedules, tournaments, transportation, publicity and all other factors of a successful operation. Varsity Teams
The University at Buffalo offers 20 Division I intercollegiate sports that compete at the highest level of competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The 20 sports are: football, baseball, softball, women's volleyball, men's and women's basketball, wrestling, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's rowing and men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field. The University at Buffalo competes in the prestigious Mid-American Conference in all of those sports except for women's rowing, which is not sponsored by the conference. Badminton (GSA)
GSBC is a non-profit, non-political organization. The purpose of GSBC is to organize the activities and provide more opportunities for badminton fans within the community of SUNY Buffalo. The clubs also strives to enhance the popularity of the badminton game in SUNY Buffalo.
Baseball
Baseball Club (SA)
The members of the baseball club are increasing their skill level compared to their competition every year. The team won the Western Conference of the North Atlantic Region of the National Club Baseball Association (NCBA) two years in a row. The club goals are to continue their winning ways and earn a three-peat as conference Champs. They hope to return to regionals in Williamsport, PA this upcoming season. Students who have ample experience as Varsity Baseball Student/Athletes in high school and transfer students with previous college experience are encouraged to join.

Boxing Club (SA)
The University at Buffalo Boxing Club is made up of members with a full range of experience. People can join with little or no experience, and but the club also consists of veteran members who gained some experience outside of UB. UB Boxing is for people who want to be part of the fastest growing club on campus with the potential to be recognized on a National level. The Club is for anyone and everyone who loves boxing and has the desire to work hard and succeed.

Commonly referred to as a "noble madness," the sport of rowing is now in its seventeenth consecutive year of existence at UB. The team competes year round against such NCAA powerhouses as Harvard, Yale, and Michigan, and they are still one of the school's perennial success stories.

Cricket (GSA)
BCC activities include organizing cricket tournaments and camps towards popularization of the game in and around the UB Campus. One of their goals is also to form a core team of cricketers who could represent UB at intra/inter-state cricket tournaments involving teams from other universities. They aim at providing a friendly and pleasant atmosphere to the student cricket community. The club also looks to promote the awareness of cricket on campus by organizing various social events.

Ultimate Frisbee (SA)
Ultimate is an exciting, non-contact team sport, played by thousands the world over. It mixes the best features of sports such as Soccer, Basketball, and American Football into an elegantly simple yet fascinating and demanding game. Oh yeah, and we play with a flying disc.
Gymnastics
Gymnastics (SA)
Competing in NAIGC and NCAA tournaments, the gymnastics club team has already developed a highly respected program, but they won't rest until they've developed a Division 1A team. If you've got the pent up aggression, they've got the sticks. This club offers women an opportunity to compete against teams from other local schools.
Men's Ice Hockey (SA)
This Atlantic Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) powerhouse continues to stun Division I and II foes year after year. The team proudly plays at the Amherst Pepsi Center each year, and is looking for players with the skills to keep the pride alive. Tryouts are early in the fall semester.
Women's Ice Hockey (SA)
A new club in the 1998-99 season, this already competitive team is still on the lookout for new members to learn the ins and outs of the game and compete against other schools. The Women's Ice Hockey Club is a team of women of various skill and experience levels that play in the ACHA's (American Collegiate Hockey Association) highly competitive Division I. As a club, the goal is above all to teach the game of hockey, but also to provide a competitive team for women to play in while at UB. Anyone is able to join as long as they are a female who has an interest in hockey.
Lacrosse

Through a grueling, two-semester training camp, regular season, and tournament schedule, the National Collegiate Lacrosse League (NCLL) member UB men's club lacrosse team embraces the regional competition and stands up to some of the best teams in the country.

Experienced players and those interested in simply learning the world's fastest sport are both welcome on the UB Women's Club Lacrosse Team. Provides both comprehensive instruction and intense competition, so tape up your stick and check them out.

Combined Martial Arts Club (SA)
CMAC offers a wide range of styles, from Kung Fu to Kickboxing. If you're looking to strengthen your body, sharpen your mind, cultivate your spirit and want to get involved at UB, they have something to offer you. Seido Karate (SA)
One of the more intense martial arts disciplines, Seido offers a means to develop one's mind and body and learn self-defense in a competitive atmosphere.
Tae Kwon Do (SA)
With a class/practice schedule in place through the fall, spring, and summer semesters, this club offers year-round instruction in the ancient art for novices, the chance for color belt and black belt members to compete in intercollegiate meets, and demonstrations in the Union for the student body.
Outdoor Adventure
Outdoor Adventure Club (SA)
Jumping out of a plane from over 2 miles above the earth, floating on white waters foamier than Guinness stout, traversing uncharted terrain, and scaling rocky cliffs are all in a season's work for OAC thrill-seekers. Membership is a menial $5, with price of excursions ranging from $3-$20.
Rugby
Men's Rugby (SA)
The UB Mad Turtles are a perennial New York State Rugby Conference (NYSRC) and Division I success story. Against such division foes as Cornell, Syracuse, and RPI, the men's rugby team battles through a rigorous regular season without fear of losing limb, life, or tooth. The team is looking for a few good men to help reclaim their 1996 championship.
Women's Rugby (SA)
Pursuing victory with all the grit of the men's team but without all the cursing, the UB Flying Squirrels face intercollegiate foes and teams from the Eastern Rugby Union and the Ontario Rugby Union with equal resolve and a competitive edge. Also like the men's team, this club is open to both beginners and experienced players.
Soccer

The Men's Soccer Club has been around for about five years. Many people love to play the game of soccer on campus, and the club provides this opportunity to students at a non-varsity level. Most members have some experience in the game of soccer, especially since this team is very competitive against other people from UB, but players of all skill levels are welcome to come check it out. The team currently plays other local colleges, including St. Bonaventure, University of Rochester, Cornell, and many more, with even more colleges being added every year.

Soccer Fan Club (GSA)
This club brings soccer fans with different cultural backgrounds together to play soccer, make them strong and make friends. The club usually has games or matches once a week at least, typically on the weekends. They often organize other activities, such as watching matches of professional players, especially during the World Cup. The club was established a few years ago and now boasts more than forty members.

Schussmeisters Ski Club (SA)
For a one-time membership fee students (beginners and pros) can ski everyday of the season. Fee includes lift ticket and transportation. They travel all over the area and further. For more information check out their website, stop by 360 Student Union, or call 645-3100.
Ski Team (SA)
Western New York offers several beautiful and challenging mountains, and this club offers men and women instruction and, for experienced skiers, competition in ski racing. The goal for the members is to improve their skiing on an individual basis, and the goal as a club is to ski well as a team and qualify for regional and national championships. The club has been around for several years and in recent years has been doing very well as at team, qualifying for championship races. Anyone who is looking to improve their skiing is encouraged join, and anyone with prior racing experience will find that the team is just what they are looking for to continue their racing career.

Table Tennis Club (GSA)
The table tennis club was formed in 2004. Most of members are international graduate students who come from India, China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, and so forth. Although table tennis is not popular in USA, it is very popular in many other countries. The main activities of this club include participation in general meetings, table tennis classes, UB table tennis tournaments, and the NCTTA (National Collegiate table tennis association) tournament. Students are welcome to join, regardless of skill level, and current club members are always willing to teach anyone who wants to learn more about table tennis.

Tennis Club (SA)
The goals of the UB Aces Tennis Club are to provide a tennis club for UB students, to play other colleges and universities that have club teams, and to host an annual UB tennis tournament for students, faculty and staff. The club hopes to one day have a large enough budget to help fund a trip to the US Open. UB Aces is open to all skill levels, ranging from beginner to ex-college athletes. Several members of the club are also tennis instructors in off-campus programs, and are willing to give lessons to those who are interested in picking up the sport.

Volleyball
Men's Volleyball (SA)
This men's club team will make you king of the beach in no time. Improve your skills, learn the finer points of the game, and meet the competition in the university community and beyond.
Oozfest (USAB)
One of the largest collegiate mud volleyball tournaments in the US, this is USAB's most recognized program. Each April, nearly 1000 UB students, alumni and other community members create over 100 teams to compete in the program. Keep your eyes open in April for ads promoting this outrageous and fun event. Women's Volleyball (SA)
Women's Volleyball SA is a tournament-oriented club and a part of the Northeastern Women's Volleyball Club League. The club has grown over the past five years into a well-ranked college club. There is no fee to join but members are required to participate in SA events, fundraisers, community service, and other team events in order to practice and travel with the team. Girls with any experience are encouraged to come to practice for the first couple of weeks to see if this club is right for them. The team is a great group of girls from all different parts of UB and they always look to have fun while still staying competitive.
