Family Weekend

What is Family Weekend?

Family Weekend is a UB tradition. Every year, families and students reunite to revisit what makes UB great. The weekend features activities to help families experience college life at UB. This year's weekend includes our Homecoming Carnival, a Fan Fest Tailgate and UB Bulls Football, an afternoon of tours, Family Brunch, and so much more.

Registration for Family Weekend is closed at this time. You may still purchase tickets for the Football Game through the Alumni Arena box office and tickets for the Illusionist throughout the Center for the Arts box office. There are also many free, family events happening during the weekend that you do not need to register for listed below.

5 pm - 10 pm Carnival
The shore of Lake LaSalle next to UB Bookstore, North Campus
Come be a part of UB's oldest homecoming tradition, Carnival. Free to all, our carnival features live entertainment, free rides & games, prizes, food and a great time for everyone. Rain or shine, carnival will leave you ready to cheer on the Bulls to victory Saturday! Come join us for a night you'll always remember!
7 pm Men's Soccer

This is a free event.
7:30 pm Magician Greg Frewin
CFA Mainstage Theater
This event is $15 per person (Please identify yourself as a Family Weekend participant at the Center for the Arts Box Office to receive this price).

9 am - 10:30 am LGBTQ Families & Alumni Breakfast
240 Student Union
The LGBTQ Wellness Team welcomes LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer) families, friends, alumni & allies to Family Weekend. Join us for breakfast on Saturday morning before heading to tailgating events and the UB Football game.
1:30 pm Walk to Victory
Augsperger
Follow the Thunder of the East Marching Band and our very own UB BULLS as we walk them to a winning game on our home turf!
1:30 pm Fan Fest Tailgate
Stadium Lot
Celebrate the UB Bulls Football with great food, entertainment, giveaways and more. Preregistration required. This event is $14 per person.
1:30 pm Spin Doctors - Free UB Tailgate Concert Series

2:30 pm Radio Pre-Game Show
Stampede Square
Back again this season, the UB football pregame radio show will originate from Stampede Square, just outside of UB Stadium. Hosts Scott Wilson & Brad Riter will broadcast the show to not only fans listening on 1520 ESPN, but also to those enjoying the pregame festivities on the UB campus. It is the perfect transition from the Tailgate Concert Series to kickoff.
3 pm - 7 pm Great Pumpkin Farm Trip
Depart from Student Union Lobby
Enjoy this beautiful harvest festival in a traditional farm setting. Admission includes entertainment (e.g., petting zoo, face painting), contests (e.g. pie eating, scarecrow making, pumpkin decorating, mummy wrapping), kids' craft tent. Event is $14 per person (80 person capacity, 2 buses; includes admission & bus fare).
3:30 pm UB vs. Norfolk State Football Game
*UB Student football tickets are at no cost to the student, UB family football tickets are discounted for participants of Family Weekend. In order to sit together students and families must select their tickets on this page. Please select appropriately. This event is FREE for students and $12 per person for families.
3:30 pm - 8 pm Niagara Falls Trip
Depart from Student Union Lobby
Tour the breathtaking American Falls, grab a bite to eat, visit shops or make a quick casino stop. Important: If you plan to walk over to the Canadian side of the Falls, you must have your passport or entry documents. This event is $12 per person (includes bus fare).
8 pm Marissa Mulder: Tom Waits...In His Words
Center for the Arts Drama Theatre
This event is $26.50 per person, $16.50 for students (any school).

Top off Family Weekend with a delicious brunch featuring omelets made to order, carving station, and a sumptuous buffet of favorites. This event is sold out every year so get your tickets early. Preregistration required. This event is $17 per person (tickets are limited).
