About Campus Dining & Shops

Campus Dining & Shops (CDS) is responsible for all food service outlets on the University at Buffalo campuses. The corporation operates UB's Meal Plan Program, Residence Hall Dining Center programs, UB Card office and our own branded restaurants. In addition to the varied restaurant options, Campus Dining & Shops operates three convenience stores on campus. We are also the recognized caterer for all events on the campus.

To create and provide outstanding services that enhance the learning landscape and social atmosphere of the University at Buffalo.

Mission Statement

Our primary purpose is to offer a variety of high quality, high value, and innovative dining options designed to fit the varied lifestyles and nutritional needs of the University community. Serving foods from local growers, striving to achieve sustainability, and expanding the availability of dining choices are ways that we enrich the dining experience. We challenge our experienced and knowledgeable employees daily to provide exemplary customer service.

Campus Dining & Shops is a multi-unit company employing over 700 people. In addition to providing the University’s dining services, CDS also serves the UB community through management of the UB Card Office, Campus Catering, Retail and Convenience Stores, and Vending.

In our day-to-day operations we rely on inherent core values: quality items, value prices, environmentally friendly settings, ethical treatment of all, and conducting all phases of our business with integrity.

The Organization

CDS, founded in 1962, is a not-for-profit corporation that functions primarily as an auxiliary of the University at Buffalo. The corporation provides a diverse portfolio of commercial services including operation of UB Dining Services, UB Card, Catering Services, Campus Tee's and the three campus convenience stores. Your UB Card is your ticket to a variety of services throughout our campus. Dining plans, Dining Dollars and Campus Cash are all accessed using your UB Card. It's also used as access to your residence hall, libraries, sporting events and serves as your student ID card.
