Important Dates

Room Reservation for 2008-2009

Room reservation for returning students is complete. If you have not taken part of this process and wish to live in the Residence Halls or Apartments, please contact the Residential Operations Office at 716 645-2171. They are maintaining a waiting list for Residence Halls AND are still accepting apartment applications. Offers for apartments are being made as space becomes available.

New/incoming students who are interested in Residence Hall housing for 2008 must submit an application, $200 housing deposit and tuition deposit by May 1, 2008. Apply on-line at http://roomres.urh.buffalo.edu

We have extended the deadline for residence hall applications for new students to June 1, 2008. Printed materials in the housing packet you received with your offer of admission indicate a May 1 deadline. The university will be able to accommodate students interested in living in the residence halls provided they submit their online application, tuition deposit and residence hall deposit of $200 by June 1. Returning in the fall? Store It - Don't Haul It!

Campus Dining & Shops has a secure, climate-controlled storage facility right on north campus. We'll provide you with a 2' x 2' x 2' box to pack items you won't need until the fall (except food).
Cost: $50 for first box; $25 for subsequent boxes).
We can also store your fridge, trunk, or futon for the same rates.
The storage facility is closed for the entire summer.

End-of-the-Year Closing

Both apartment and residence hall students will receive written information on checking out of your room or apartment.

Residence Halls Close

5 pm, Friday, May 9
Senior Check Out 9 am, May 12, 2008

Check out through Friday May 9 is NOW located in your hall office.
Ellicott: Level 2, building 4
Governors: 108 Lehman
South Campus: First floor offices, The Quad-First floor Pritchard,
Senior check during graduation weekend returns to the Area Offices.

Students wishing to stay must apply for summer school housing located on South Campus, see summer information. Students moving directly to summer school housing will move on Monday May 12.

Apartment Check-out

May 31 for 10 month leases and those that started in June

Prior to the deadline given, you must return furniture to a suitable layout, clean your room or apartment, and check out at the area or village office. In the residence halls, there will be a designated check out station located in your hall during peak check out times.

The checkout process includes completing a mail forwarding card and handing in your keys. Your room and apartment will be inspected after your departure for damage billing. We review room condition reports and apartment records prior to final billing. Please alert a Residential Life or Apartment staff member if we should be aware of specific damage. Should you have questions, please see your hall or complex director or staff in your area or village office.
