How to Apply

Process

Incoming students should receive an information packet for on-campus housing when accepted to the University at Buffalo. This application describes our housing options and outlines housing rates and charges.

All applications are submitted on-line whether you are an incoming or current student. If you are interested and eligible for both the apartments and the residence halls, you must apply for each separately. Apply now online

Residence Halls

You will need to review and accept the Terms of Agreement, complete your preferences including a roommate preference, and submit a $200 deposit. The Agreement is for one full academic year (August-May).

To be considered, all roommates must select each other on their application. Based on space, not all roommate preferences can be honored. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible. Residence Hall spaces are assigned based on application received date. Many of the top preferred spaces for the upcoming fall are gone by February.

Apartments

You will need to complete an application that includes your apartment mate preferences, complex preferences, and submission of a $25.00 non-refundable application fee. Within the application acceptance period in January, we do not assign apartments on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority is given to students who have lived the most semesters on-campus.
