Paraprofessional Positions
Resident Advisors (Residence Hall Only)
- Students who live in the halls and are trained to deal with problems, and lead floor and building activities
- Hold students accountable to conduct guidelines
- Perform a variety of administrative tasks
- Play an active and positive role in a student's transition to campus life
- Communicate information to students through posting or distribution of notices and/or personal delivery of information
- Promote floor participation in various on- and off-campus activities
- Serve on duty approximately 5-8 times per month
- Plan and implement academic and educational programs that meet the needs of residents

Community Assistants (Apartments Only)
- Serve as liaison, programmer, and support to assigned buildings of approximately 72-100 residents
- Daytime and/or evening, administrative office hours throughout the week and weekends during the academic school year. 15 hours per week
- After hours emergency response/duty hours. Approximately 1 evening per week from 11 p.m. until the office opens the following day

- Promote building participation in various on- and off-campus activities

Academic Assistants (Residence Hall Only)
Academic Assistants (AAs) are an important part of the residential education staff. These students must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA and live on the floor with students. AAs:
- Provide tutoring, mentoring and assistance for students making the adjustment to university life.
- Act as liaisons among residents, faculty advisors and academic advisors
- Communicate information to students through posting or distribution of notices and/or personal delivery of information
- Plan and implement academic and educational programs that meet the needs of residents in their specific learning communities
- Work cooperatively with Resident Advisors to create community and programs that meet the needs of residents in specific area
