The Intercultural & Diversity Center's (IDC) mission is to educate students through programs and events that increase their understanding of the multi-faceted aspects of diversity and the advantages of being at the University at Buffalo, a diverse institution. The Center offers students various opportunities to engage in dialogue, celebrate differences and commonalities, and promote awareness about diversity and how it affects their beliefs, perceptions, and the global society.
The IDC promotes an environment of multicultural personal and academic growth, leadership opportunities, and a sense of community for all students at the University at Buffalo. The Center also provides two mentoring programs for students interested in pursuing a career in Student Affairs, as well as mentorships for underrepresented students to gain experience, support and guidance for a successful college experience.
The collaboration among the IDC and other departments, students, and student organizations on campus enhances the opportunities for students to utilize the Center as a means to gain leadership skills, build relationships with faculty, staff and other students on campus, and enhance their overall college experience.
We plan, design and implement programs to celebrate difference and commonalities of individuals who attend the University at Buffalo. Come and celebrate our diverse population at these programs:
- ALANA Celebration of Achievement
- Dessert Hours
- International Coffeehouse
