(sopho)MORE House
MORE House is a sophomore living learning community in Greiner Hall designed for those who are looking to explore MORE, do MORE, and be MORE on campus and in the community. MORE House is a leadership living learning community focused on helping students explore their role in both the UB and Buffalo communities and further developing their capacity for leadership by doing more and being more.
MORE House residents, as part of the living learning community, will be required to participate in the following curricular and co-curricular initiatives throughout the academic year.
Requirements
Fall 2012
- Enroll in UBE110: Interpersonal Skills for Leading and Serving (2-credits) – This course explores the foundational skills you need to be a student leader on or off campus. This course uses the Social Change Model of Leadership as a framework for understanding oneself and how to effectively make change in a community.
- Participate in a retreat off-campus to facilitate community building for the floor.
Spring 2013
- Enroll in UBE 496: Leadership Practicum (1-credit) – This course builds on the foundation of the fall course by focusing on action on campus or in the local community (i.e. active involvement in a club or organization). The course will meet every other week as an opportunity to reflect on your involvement in the community and to ensure you are making progress toward your personal and academic goals.
- Participate in co-curricular opportunities as they relate to the course and as provided by the program coordinators.
Students who are interested in being a part of MORE House should apply online by February 3, 2012.
NOTE: Students who are interested in rooming with a particular person, should consider that both parties must apply and be accepted into MORE House.
