Pillars of Leadership
The Pillars of Leadership Induction Ceremony is designed to bring together all students who have been previously recognized or honored across campus for their leadership, service, and commitment to making a difference on campus or in the local community. These students are recognized again at this ceremony for being a "Pillar of Leadership" in the UB community. Please see below for a full list of last year's recipients.
Each year at Pillars, the Office of Student Engagement and the Intercultural and Diversity Center also present an award to four unknowing students and two student organizations who have been nominated based on the award criteria available on the UBLinked submission form.
The awards that will be announced and presented at the Induction Ceremony are the Emerging Leader Award, the Exemplary Leader Award, the Dorothy Haas Community Engagement Award, the Organization Impact Award for On Campus and the Organization Impact Award for Off Campus. The criteria for these awards is delineated on the UB Linked submission form.
Faculty, staff, or students may nominate those students who they believe are deserving of this honor and students may be nominated more than once. Students may also self-nominate. The submitted nominations are the sole basis for award selection, so they should be thoroughly written.
All award winners and nominees will be invited to attend the Pillars of Leadership Induction Ceremony on May 5 at 4:00 pm. A reception will follow immediately and all friends and families of the winners and nominees are invited to join us for this special recognition event.
