Relay For Life
Relay For Life is an event sponsored by UB's Colleges Against Cancer (CAC) to help raise funds for cancer education, research and advocacy. Relay For Life, which is usually held in the spring semester, starts planning for the event in late August or early September. Volunteers are needed to help plan the event and they are especially needed to help on the night of Relay for Life. If you are interested, please email Julie Smith at jmh@buffalo.edu.
Relay for Life is being held on April 20, 2012 in Alumni Arena.
Events planned for the fall semester include our annual "Save Second Base" Kickball Tournament and our new Spinz... the Ultimate Frisbee Tournament. Stay tuned for more info!
UB Student Alumni Association
The UB Student Alumni Association is looking for volunteers to help with this year’s annual Oozefest event! Mostly referees are needed (no experience necessary – you will be trained) but there are a lot of other positions available as well. Oozfest will be on April 28th from 7 am - 4 pm on campus. UB Breathe Free
Student groups and campus organizations can earn community service while having a positive impact on the campus environment! Opportunities include: cigarette-butt pick-up events, & educating UB community about the smoke-free policy.

SBI Health Education
SBI Health Education is looking for student volunteers to assist with the Walk Stations on North and South Campus in the libraries. Volunteers would give safety walks to students so they can get home safely. There are two shifts available: 5:45 p.m. - 9 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. – 12 a.m. on Sunday through Thursday. UB Athletics:
Volunteers are needed to assist the promotions team with the set up and execution of game day promotional activities during Football, Volleyball, Men’s & Women’s Basketball games. If you’re interested, contact Jill Rexinger-Kuhn at rexinger@buffalo.edu or call 645-3991 to find out days and times.
Upstate New York Transplant Services (UNYTS) Community Blood Bank – Donate Life!
Upstate New York Transplant Services (UNTYS) is a local non-profit organization that fully supports giving the Gift of Life. All of the blood that we collect is provided to the WNY hospitals to help save lives of local patients. UNYTS is looking for student groups who are interested in sponsoring blood drives on campus and for the support from UB students and faculty to donate blood at our blood drives on campus throughout the year.
American Red Cross Blood Drives:
The American Red Cross will be on campus at least twice a month for students to give blood and to volunteer to assist the Red Cross. Students interested in volunteering individually or with their student organization may stop by the CSLCE to select a blood drive they wish to sponsor through volunteering.
