Race Details
Registration Information
Registration is now closed.
On-site registration and race packet pick up will be on:
- Friday, September 23 4 - 7 p.m. corner of Coventry & Augspurger Rds (location change announced 9/12 for this date)
- Race Day (Sunday, Sepetember 25, 2011) 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. (race begins at 9:30 a.m.)

Course
KEEP TO THE RIGHT. A course map is available here and will be posted in the Alumni Arena Lobby. A University Police car will be lead vehicle for the race, and a van will be used for follow-up pickups, as necessary. Watch for traffic marshals and warning signs.
After the start, the course will not be completely free of vehicular traffic. Major intersections will be blocked and traffic marshals will provide assistance as needed. While on the course, please yield to the right of way to emergency vehicles if necessary. Also, watch out for the ramps over the Lee Loop curbs (near the Commons and Union).
Distance
5 Kilometers (3.1 miles). U.S.A.T.F. Certified Course NY-08046-JG.
Start and Finish near UB Alumni Arena. Splits will be called at the first and second mile mark. Water station on course and at finish.
Kid's Dash for Fun, Prizes & Safety
Hosted by the UB Men's and Women's Basketball Team
FREE EVENT! For ages 5-10 years (distance will vary according to age group). Participants will win prizes, meet and take photos with Victor E. Bull and the players, and a whole lot more! Select the Kids Dash box on your registration form and check in at the Kids Dash table on Race Day (walk-in participants are welcome too!). Parent or guardian signature required. Start time is 10:15 a.m. at Coventry Loop. Prizes awarded in each age group (5-6, 7-8, 9-10).
Start
Race participants will be led from Alumni Arena to the Start Line. Runners will be grouped by anticipated mile times at the start. Watch for the signs! Brief pre-race announcements will be made. A moment of silence will be observed prior to the start of the race. Wheelchair racers will be given a 30-second start in advance of the field. The race will start promptly at 9:30 a.m.
Timing/Results
Scorethis - This will manage and time the race.
Water Station
A staffed water station will be located near the half-way point of the course by the Ellicott Complex and at the finish lines.
Post-Race Party
After the race all registrants are invited to a free post-race party! Don't miss the free giveaways, great food and live music by Black Widow! See you there.
Awards
Awards will be given in more than 20 categories, including the following. Award ceremony will occur immediately following race.
- Overall Finishers (Male & Female) Open Division (cash prizes)
- Top 3 Finishers (M & F) in five-year age categories: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+, wheelchair
- Top UB Finishers (M & F) for following categories: Faculty/Staff, Student and Alumni
First Aid
Race medical care will be located at the start-finish areas. Ask any race crew member for assistance if needed.
Directions to the Race
UB North Campus is at Route 263 (Millersport Hwy.) and Maple Road. From the NYS Thruway, take Exit 50 (I-290) to Millersport Hwy. North. Proceed north to the State University Coventry entrance.
An alternative is I-290 to I-990. Take the I-990 North to the first exit (University at Buffalo). On campus, follow signs to Alumni Arena.

FREE on campus parking is available close to Alumni Arena. For campus map information, visit the Visitor Information page (Please Note: faculty/staff designated parking does not apply on race day).
