Mission Statement
In support of the University and Student Affairs missions, the Office of New Student Programs is committed to providing all new undergraduate students a strong foundation for academic and personal development and success at the University at Buffalo by:

• Welcoming students to and encouraging active engagement with the intellectual, social, and cultural environment of the UB community;
• Introducing new students to resources and student services available to enrich and support their educational experiences;
• Facilitating opportunities for positive interaction among new students and peers, upper class mentors, staff, and faculty;
• Enhancing the leadership skills and experiences of upper class students who work directly and purposefully with new students and their families;
• Encouraging and educating parents and family members to be actively and appropriately involved in supporting their UB student;
• Promoting, fostering, and coordinating University community involvement in providing transition services that establish a framework for student success;
• Continuously assessing the changing needs of the diverse new student population, and responding to those needs.

New students and families of UB students are encouraged to take advantage of our programs and services.
