Our Mission
Disability Services is the University at Buffalo's coordinating center for equality of opportunity in education, campus life, and university employment for qualified individuals with disabilities. We support individual consumer choice and independence through informed self-advocacy and legislatively-ensured civil rights. We believe that planned, persistent removal of architectural and attitudinal barriers is requisite to educational leadership. In higher education we place hope that members of society will learn to value, design, and manage accessible, usable environments.

Verifying Student Disability
The director of Disability Services reviews student requests for reasonable accommodation in terms of the rights of individuals with disabilities to nondiscrimination on the basis of disability.
