Party Registration Program
How does it Work?
Students will be able to register their off-campus parties at UB's Off-Campus Student Services office located in 109 Allen Hall on South Campus. Should a noise complaint be received by the Buffalo Police, the registered party house will be contacted by phone and will be given a verbal warning to break up their party within a 20-minute time frame. If a second noise complaint is received after the 20-minute grace period, the police will send an officer to the residence to deal with the noise in which case the host will receive a noise violation fine and a referral to the University's judicial process. The warning process is related to noise complaints only. If you host a party that is not registered, there will be no warning from the City, and they will be showing zero tolerance.
Benefits of the Program
- Save party hosts money in city ordinance fines and avoid University Judiciary sanctions.
- Reduce the time in which a problem party is broken up, which will satisfy neighbors.
- Save the City of Buffalo money and man power as they will not have to dispatch officers to break up parties allowing them to focus their attention elsewhere improving neighborhood safety.
Please remember that it is illegal to serve alcohol to minors and this program does not promote or endorse this activity. Information on reducing the risk of alcohol and other drugs is provided by UB's office of Wellness Education Services.
