Intercultural & Diversity Center
About UsMissionThe Intercultural & Diversity Center provides cultural enrichment programming and leadership experiences to raise the awareness and appreciation of diversity and social justice issues. We work to maintain a university climate that celebrates difference and improves the quality of intercultural life for students at the University at Buffalo.
Travel the World In A Day!We all have a unique opportunity here at the University at Buffalo to interact and learn from other people, from very diverse backgrounds and lifestyles, everyday on our campuses. The Intercultural & Diversity Center provides programs, services and special events to promote and encourage this interaction among our campus community and beyond! The Diversity Challenge PledgeOnce you have participated in an IDC program or workshop, we welcome you to sign a Diversity Challenge Pledge card as well as our “CommUNITY Wall” located in the Center at 240 Student Union. Individuals who sign the Pledge acknowledge that they are important members of the University at Buffalo CommUNITY and accept and celebrate the differences and interconnectedness of all people. Join us for a program and sign the Pledge! Click here for PDF (1 page, 19KB) or Word (1 page, 20KB) version. Who should use our servicesAnyone who is interested in experiencing the rich intercultural life at the University at Buffalo. EVERYONE is welcome at our Center and at our events! A Diversity Glossary
This Diversity Glossary is provided for you to use as you strive to become more interculturally competent. The words and
definitions have been gathered from a variety of sources to help define and improve understanding so that within our commUNITY,
we can openly discuss issues using these terms as we engage in authentic dialogue, decrease misunderstanding and strengthen
communication.
