Get Involved

Parents and family members are critical to student success. Students can count on their families for support, advice, and encouragement. At UB, Parent & Family Programs is here to help parents/families support their students through education and communication.

UB's students need your help to make college complete. Here are some ways to get involved:

    Share your student's excitement by joining UB at Parent Orientation.

  2. Parent Association
    Stay in tune with what's going on at UB as a member of our Parent Association. Watch your email for our monthly newsletter or subscribe now.

  3. Attend UB Events External Site Link Icon
    At UB we hold hundreds of programs annually for students, our community and our faculty and staff. Many programs are open to parents and families and the community.

    • Family Weekend: Every year, families and students reunite to revisit what makes UB great. The weekend features activities to help families experience college life at UB.

  4. Help UB Students
    Your experience, your knowledge and your perspective are extremely valuable to UB students. Whether you interview on campus, volunteer as a mentor or contribute to the Parent Fund, there are many ways to help UB students.

    • Be a mentor
      Meet a Mentor
      Serve as a career mentor to UB students and recent graduates. Share your experience by offering advice, internships, job searching tips.

      REALM (Real Experience and Leadership Mentoring)
      Serve as a mentor for a single day. This one-day job shadowing program gives UB students a chance to broaden their leadership skills by watching local business and community leaders at work.

      Career fairs
      Consider recruiting at one of UB's many job fairs.

      On-campus Interviewing
      Encourage your employer to come to UB to interview the best and brightest future employees.
