Frequently Asked Questions

I'm not a UB student yet, but I will be on UB's campus for an official academic purpose. How do I obtain a parking permit for that day?
You will need to get communication on official UB letterhead from the advisor or other official you will be visiting, confirming your campus presence. Bring the letter to either the North or South Campus Parking & Transportation Services office, and a clerk will give you a guest permit for that day that will allow you to park on campus.

If you didn't get a permit, visitors can park in the Center for Tomorrow lot off Flint Road, without a charge and utilize our shuttle service. Another alternative for visitors is to park in the Fronczak Paid Lot off White Road, or the Michael Lot on the South Campus. These lots are $4.00 all day, $2.00 after 1 p.m. and free after 3 p.m.

Can I get a permit on-line?
Students, faculty and staff, may register online for their permits via MyUB.
(Note: You will need your UB IT name and password.)

My daughter says she has trouble finding a parking place on campus before her 10:00 a.m. class. What advice do you have for her?
Your daughter should make a Park and Ride Lot her first choice for parking. Convenient shuttle service to academic buildings and complexes is available from the Park and Ride Lots, Monday through Friday, every 10 to 20 minutes. Park and Ride service is offered from the Center For Tomorrow, Arena, Alumni and Stadium Lots.

Shuttles are color-coded to specific routes. Your daughter can find the most convenient route to her class by checking out the shuttle schedules.

Another alternative is for your daughter to arrive on campus prior to 9:00 a.m., when parking is readily available, and to spend the time before her 10:00 a.m. class at a library on campus reviewing her schoolwork for the day.

How can I find more information on the Resident Freshmen Parking Policy
