Awards and Recognition

The University at Buffalo's Counseling Services office is responsible for various web sites (e.g., The UB Counseling Services home page, The Counseling Center Village, The Counseling Centers Directory). These sites have been recognized as some of the best Counseling Center sites on the web. Here is a brief listing of some of the recognition that we have received.

Website-of-The-Month, September 2005
The Virtual Pamphlet Collection, a section of our Counseling Center Village, was designated as the website-of-the-month at studentaffairs.com.

World Best Website Nominee, 2004
World Best Website Awards are granted to exemplary websites that are pursuing "best practices" in website design & Internet communications.

Web Guide: For The Best Time Online, December 1999. Our section on stress rated as one of the best such sites on the net. Read the original article.

SUNY Faculty/Senate Outstanding Student Life Program Award, October 1997 "Counseling Centers on the Information Highway"

Innovations in College Counseling: The Counseling Center Web. Selected as an innovative Counseling Center program, American College Personnel Association, 1997.

Best of the Net: Bell Atlantic Internet Solutions. See the announcement at the bottom of this article in The Reporter.

Web Site of the Month: American Psychological Association. See article in the APA Monitor.

Favorite Graduate Student website. Here's another article in the APA Monitor. Graduate students were asked which websites they'd found to be worthwhile resources for information on careers, research, professional development and graduate school survival. The Counseling Center Village was one of those sites.

New Riders' Official World Wide Web Internet Yellow Pages, 7th ed.. We were one of fifteen sites listed under Self-Help, and we were the only University Counseling Center.

Student Affairs Journal-Online. A review of an early version of our Counseling Center website. "Overall, this site should be considered a must-have link on any Counseling Center web page...could easily serve as a model for Counseling Center pages across the Internet." This review is from Student Affairs Journal-Online, 1996.
