Design your own "self-awareness" program for UB students - and get money to do it.
The UB Student Wellness Team (Counseling Services, Health Services, and Wellness Education Services) will award financial grants of up to $300 to qualified students groups with ideas for student programs. Here are the details:
Eligibility
- A student organization must be registered and in good-standing
- The program must promote wellness in at least one of the following areas: Occupational, social, emotional, intellectual, physical, spiritual.
Application Procedures
- A maximum of $300 per program is available.
- Applications are accepted year round
- Applications must be submitted 1 month prior to the program date

Policies/Guidelines
- Grant awards may not be used to purchase alcohol, tobacco products, or illegal drugs
- Events where alcohol will be served are not eligible for grant awards
- Programming that excludes individuals on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, or are discriminatory in any way are not eligible for grant awards
- The amount funded may be less than the amount requested
- IMPORTANT: A program report must be returned within 1 week of the program. Failure to return the report will result in the organization not being considered for future funding.
- Checks must be cashed within 90 days of being issued. No checks will be reissued if they are lost.

Wellness Grants are part of the "my Self matters" suicide prevention program offered by the UB Division of Student Affairs (Student Wellness Team: Counseling Services, Health Services, Wellness Education Services) with a generous grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
