Fast Food, Restaurants & Eating Out
Eating Out Tips
How often you eat out and what you order can play a large role in your overall calorie intake. Here are some tips:
- Don't arrive starving - you know what happens if you do! Have a small snack before you go and order with sanity.
- Eat out less frequently - people who eat out more often are more likely to be overweight.
- Choose wisely - go to restaurants that offer more vegetables, a salad bar, etc.
- Watch serving sizes - they're huuuuuugggGe! Split your order with a friend or take some home for a meal the next day.
- Balance your order - if you must have fries, get a non-fried entree.
- Beverages - our bodies don’t sense liquid calories as well as solid calories. Drink water as much as possible to save money and trim the 500 calories you'd get in your large cola with free refill.
